Dr. Martin Svatoš, Ph.D.


Resolving Disputes Emerging from Sport by Mediation and Other ADR

JUDr. Martin Svatoš, Ph.D. is one of the leading Czech mediators and arbitrators. In addition to his rich dispute resolution experience, he teaches at the Charles University in Prague and several other universities all around the globe. He acts as a legal expert of the Czech delegation to the UNCITRAL, as the President of the Working group of the ICC Czech Republic for Mediation and as a board member of the Arbitration Court of the Czech Commodity Exchange. He is co-editor of the EU Mediation Law Handbook (published by Kluwer International in 2017). Martin has acted in several ad hoc and institutional mediation and arbitration both as mediator, arbitrator and external legal counsel. He is listed by the VIAC and by the Arbitration Court of the Football Association of the Czech Republic. He publishes and gives speeches at international conferences on regular basis, such as the UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres, the IBA Annual Conference, the German Arbitration Institute Annual Conference, the Conference of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (Dublin) and YIAG conferences (Istanbul, Warsaw).

History of Tourism in Krkonoše (the Giant Mountains)

Assoc. Prof. Dr. et Dr. Jan Štemberk, Ph.D. is the Czech historian devoted to the history of tourism in the 19th and 20th century. He has published two monographs and a series of journal articles from the history of tourism, history of transport and traffic and history of law in tourism and transport. In addition to his scientific experience, he teaches at the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University and at the University of Business in Prague. He is also a member of the series of scientific societies and committees.

Lawyer and specialist in sport, especially in alpine skiing and snowboarding, leading office in Velden/Wörthersee. Studied in Vienna and Colorado/USA, having professional experience at the Commercial Court of Vienna, published book "Liability in violation of sports regulations", since then numerous publications and lectures on the subject of ski law. The main focus is on the law at sport and skiing, where Dr. Marwin Gschöpf and his father Dr. Herbert Gschöpf are also active as (court) experts.

Enric Ripoll González is Associate of the firm Ruiz-Huerta & Crespo, specialist in sports law and member of the AEDD (Spanish Association of Sports Law) since 2011. After 8 years as civil and administrative law lawyer, in 2012 Enric graduated Cum Laude in the International Master in Law and Sport Management ISDE-IUSPORT.
As an International Sports Law specialised Lawyer, Enric has been giving legal advice to clubs, intermediaries, athletes or associations in contractual matters such as employment or image rights contracts, also in disciplinary procedures regarding match-fixing, financial fair play, doping, etc., representing his clients before the jurisdictional bodies such as CAS, national and international federations.

Filip Trejbal

How to Prepare Race Skis (Wednesday, March 7, 20:00–21:00)

Filip Trejbal is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from the Czech Republic. Growing up in Rokytnice nad Jizerou in Giant Mountains, he started skiing very early.
During 10 years of racing in the World Cup, he collected many nice placements. Filip participated in three Olympic Games and five FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. Filip made a strategic decision to end his professional career in 2015. Filip still spends much of his time on snow with his clients, who are interested in racing skiing.

Radek Groh


Tour guide (Tuesday, March 6)

Runner, skialpinist and climber, HUDY and La Sportiva.
Radek started as a racing runner for medium and long tracks and became multiple Champion of the Czech Republic in junior categories. He passed out also many representative starts in the World Cup and European Championships in running uphill. He is specialized in mountain running and skialpinism. He became multiple Champion of the Czech Republic and member of national team in this discipline.
In addition, Radek is member of the Mountain Rescue Service in his native Giant Mountains and enthusiastic climber – in 2016 he made, with the legend of Czech climbing Jindra Hudeček, his first winter climb on Fitz Roy in Patagonia.

Zdeněk Hák


Tour guide (Tuesday, March 6)

Well known ski tourer and climber. Zdeněk won the ski touring Czech Cup 5 times. Climbed on Gasherbrum I: south-west face  (Pakistan), Cima Grande: west side (Italy), Snow Patch: Sunshine Crack (Canada), Chief: Split Pillar (Canada), Dryland: Happy, M10- (Austria). Since 2008 Zdeněk is a professional UIAGM mountain guide. Zdeněk likes new challenges, especially hard ski touring downhill runs (in 2016 he skied from Noshaq in Hindukush, 7 492 m.) and climbing in the Czech mountains (Adršpach, Jizerské hory, Český ráj).

Janek Bednařík


(Friday, March 9, 20:00–21:00)

Member of the HUDY team, he works as a professional mountain guide with the highest certification UIAGM. Janek likes interesting calls, he completed climb on El Capitan as a guide for blind climber Jan Říha, he got through Scandinavia on kayak and thanks to his faith “if you want, you can make it” he worked out into first league of instructors of heliskiing in Canadian Revelstoke.
